Manila, Philippines, August 8, 2024 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) today conducted a comprehensive dry run of its PowerPoint presentation for the FY 2025 Proposed Budget. This event serves as a crucial preparation for the forthcoming budget deliberations at the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines.
The proposed budget for the DSWD, including its Attached and Supervised Agencies for FY 2025, stands at a substantial PHP 229.7 billion. Of this, the DSWD Office of the Secretary is allocated PHP 226.6 billion, reflecting the department’s ongoing commitment to delivering critical social services and support to the most vulnerable sectors of society.
Today’s dry run was attended by the DSWD Executive Committee (EXECOM) members, selected Management Committee (MANCOM) members, heads of Attached and Supervised Agencies, and technical staff from the Financial Management Service and the Policy Development and Planning Bureau. Their participation underscores the collaborative effort required to ensure a seamless and persuasive presentation during the budget deliberations.
During the session, attendees meticulously reviewed and refined the presentation content, focusing on key budget allocations, program highlights, and strategic priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
