Last Friday, March 1, 2024, the FMS wore purple colored clothes and gathered at the office entrance for a photo opportunity with Director Wayne C. Belizar (center) to signify support for gender equality and women empowerment.
March is the celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month, with the sub-theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas; Kakayanan ng Kababaihang, Patutunayan!” where women are given equitable opportunities and not hindered by gender biases and discriminatory stereotypes.
All government agencies and sectors nationwide aims to capitalize on the recurring theme “We for gender equality and inclusive society” on the renewed commitment to the advocacy.
This annual campaign is exercised with positive affirmation and a call to action that is aligned with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and aims for deep economic and social transformation to reinvigorate job creation and accelerate poverty reduction by steering the economy back on a high-growth path.
The FMS Director greatly supports this campaign and ordered all FMS staff to do the same through active participation in the following activities for the month of March 2024:
- Printing and Posting of at least 1 A3-sized material on the National Women’s Month Celebration Advocacy Banner per FMS Division;
- Decoration made of #purple crepe paper; and
- Wear purple on all Fridays of March to signify solidarity for women’s empowerment and gender equality and using the hashtag #PurpleFridays and #PurpleYourIcon.
